We’ve written at length about the myriad wonders of Cisco Spark, an all-in-one messaging app, conferencing solution and phone system that delivers powerful cloud-based collaboration tools to everyone in an organization, no matter where they happen to be.
But the power of Spark extends beyond mobile solutions. Cisco Spark can also be delivered to your meeting rooms via Cisco Spark Room Kits, which deliver the power of Spark to your big screens and booming speakers. Hardware-optimized to run on a cloud platform but built for on-premises environments, Cisco Spark Room Kits feature all the bells and whistles one should expect from a room solution in 2017: 4K resolution; wired and wireless content sharing; dual screens; automatic framing; and speaker tracking.
Cisco offers three versions of the Spark Room Kit. For organizations that have already invested in displays, the standard Room Kit and the Room Kit Plus are the way to go. Both bundle the camera and codec in a single device, so it’s just a matter of plugging them into your flat panel displays. The standard Room Kit is ideal for smaller rooms that seat up to seven people, while the Spark Room Kit Plus, which boasts a Quad Camera, is best for larger rooms that can hold up to fourteen people.
If you haven’t already invested in a high res display, the Cisco Spark Room 55 is the way to go. A single self-contained unit, the Spark Room 55 is an integrated system with a 55” 4K screen and a robust speaker system with built-in bass. It is ideal for rooms that seat six to eight people. This solution would be ideal for a huddle room, as you won’t have to deal with hiding pesky wires or finding a place to mount microphones. It also makes for a great moveable solution--with a wheel base, the Cisco Spark Room 55 can be easily shuttled to whatever room needs it at the moment.
That all sounds great, of course, but how does the Room Kit fare in the real world? According to a recent review published by CommsTrader, which spent some quality time with Cisco’s newest collaboration solution, the Spark Room Kit is “well-designed and simple to employ, [and] we strongly recommend the Room Kit to any business wanting to improve the overall quality of their conference calls and give their teams the tools needed to perform to the best of their abilities within a collaborative working environment.”
Needless to say, we agree.
