Nothing stops a video conference dead in its tracks like a failed presentation. You can prepare all you want--memorize the material, practice your speech, get your documents in order--but once the content sharing portion of the meeting goes haywire, recovery is exceedingly difficult. As you wrestle with a tangle of wires or a failed connection or a faulty dongle, your colleagues drift from the matter at hand, their minds turning to lunch or the weekend or, worse, your trusted co-workers start to wonder about just how qualified you are. This is bad news.

But Polycom is aware of this problem. The video conferencing and telepresence manufacturer has detected a need for a content sharing and collaboration solution that is essentially foolproof, allergic to human error or mechanical disruption.

“Customers have told us that they struggle to share information in meetings--too much time is wasted trying to find the right adapter or cord for whatever computer or device they have,” said Polycom CEO Mary McDowell. “Collaboration is richer and more productive when you annotate and build on your ideas together in real time.”

The solution is Polycom Pano, which, according to McDowell, “makes content sharing easy and fits into any ecosystem or environment.”

A small Roku-like device, Polycom Pano connects to any display and allows for wireless content sharing from all devices--PCs, Macs, smartphones and tablets. Once connected, users are able to cast four simultaneous screens, which makes comparing and contrasting the work of multiple employees easier than ever. No more toggling back and forth. No more scrambling to switch screens. It’s all there together, on the same screen. What did your math teacher always say? “Show your work.” Now you can. Everyone can.

But Pano is about more than simply sharing screens. Connect a touch display to add annotation capabilities, and use the infinite whiteboard feature for brainstorming and problem solving sessions. And if you want to give your remote employees the same content sharing powers, you can integrate Polycom Pano with RealPresence Group Series to extend the reach of your new collaboration solution.

You won’t be sacrificing image quality on the altar of convenience, either. Polycom Pano lets you see everything in crisp 4K60 fps and RGB: 4:4:4, so you’ll be experiencing images of great depth and rich color.

There’s simply no excuse for letting a meeting go off the rails. Polycom Pano can keep everything humming along.
